Venues NSW is a commerically focused agency of the NSW Government, encompassing the Sydney Cricket Ground and Allianz Stadium as well as major sporting and cultural stadiums and precincts in Sydney, Olympic Park, Parramatta, Newcastle and Wollongong. The network of stadiums and entertainment centres host in excess of 5 million people a year at more than 500 events and is a key contributor to the economy.
 
Venues NSW takes an intergrated approach to our stadia and entertainment centres by developing partnerships with sporting codes, the entertainment and event industry, audiences, local businesses, NSW Government agencies and community groups. Our network throughout NSW allows us to combine internal resources and harness a vast employee skillset all of which helps us deliver key projects and secure outstanding content.
 

ABOUT THE ROLE

Venues NSW was formed in December 2020 and is a commercially focused arm of the NSW Government. We collaborate closely with Destination NSW, major sporting codes and promoters to excite and entertain the people of NSW with a rich and varied calendar of major events. This role is based at the Moore Park headquarters of Venues NSW.

Supporting the Payroll Manager, this role will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including assisting with the processing of the weekly payroll, maintaining employee payroll records, and responding to employee payroll inquiries. 

This is a part-time role within the Finance team, requiring availability from Wednesday through Friday. The Payroll Officer plays a crucial role in delivering efficient and effective payroll services in line with Venues NSW policies (Code of Conduct), Enterprise Agreements, and relevant Awards.

ABOUT YOU

Ideal applicants will ideally have the following: 

  • Demonstrated payroll experience in a similar role
  • Proven performance and an understanding of basic payroll and accounting procedures 
  • Intermediate Microsoft office capability including Excel
  • Knowledge of Preceda or similar payroll systems

We are seeking applicants who thrive in a highly focused customer service environment and can demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills and proven time management ability with a high attention to detail in conjunction with a friendly, positive disposition.
