About the Role
The Housing Manager is a newly created position and is responsible for managing a small team who are committed to securing housing for veterans and their families. You will manage the day-to-day operations of the ex-service accommodation program including admissions, discharges, and the development of quality service referrals which promote independence.
This position reports to the Executive General Manager Veteran Services (EGMVS) and provides the opportunity to deputise from time to time.
Travel across Metropolitan Melbourne will be required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be a highly experienced community housing manager with strong leadership skills, and the ability to mentor staff. Demonstrated success supporting veterans and clients dealing with mental health and disability navigate various community services will provide you with a competitive advantage.
You will also have:
- Very sound understanding of the Residential Tenancies Act 1997.
- Demonstrated experienced in all aspects of the VCAT process.
- Proven effective and kind interpersonal, communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with effective time management skills.
- Strong computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office, database management and internet.
- Current driver’s licence.
- Satisfactory completion of a National Police Records Check (arranged by Vasey RSL Care).
- Valid working rights which will be subject to a VEVO check.
