Purpose of the Position: The Menswear Designer will contribute to maximising the potential of our private brands, through creating innovative and commercial product designs, conducting trend and competitor research, and collaborating with various teams to ensure our products meet the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responding to Our Customers: collecting and analysing our customers purchasing behaviours and trends to determine successful product design.
• Designing & Developing the Product: Working collaboratively with your team and other departments to deliver a quality product that meets performance metrics and brand motifs.
• Planning and Presenting the Range: Strategically present the range and branding to key stakeholders, supporting the effective delivery in collaboration with the buying and marketing & digital team.
• Enhancing Fit, Quality & Branding: Monitor and review the product performance, quality standards, and supply logistics to ensure a consistent quality product is delivered.
• Ethical Sourcing & Sustainability: Uphold and contribute to the environmental and sustainability initiatives of USG.
• Building Supplier Relationships: Negotiate and enrich relationships with suppliers and other external stakeholders to navigate and achieve business objectives.

What we want from you!

• Proficiency in creative and design software (Adobe Creative Cloud).
• A Technical understanding of garment construction and textiles.
• 2-3 years’ experience working in a design role for a fashion retail brand
• Familiarity with garment patterns, technical fits, yardage and placement print design.
• A strong understanding of Universal Store & Perfect Stranger customers and trending purchasing behaviour.
