SDN Lois Barker is a small and calm centre that families call their "oasis in the city."

 

Are you a Certificate III qualified educator looking to work in for an organisation that supports you to do what you love to do most– support children and their families? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

As an educator you’ll work as part of a small team of early childhood professionals to deliver SDN’s innovative, high quality and inclusive program for children, while building strong, meaningful relationships with children and families, and delivering the support of the SDN village to their lives. 

 

About you

 

You will be an experienced qualified educator, with a demonstrated understanding of the early years learning framework and the national quality standards relating to child care.  Additionally, you will enjoy working as part of a team with good communication skills.  You currently hold or are able to gain a working with children check.  A current first aid qualification is desirable.

The team at SDN Lois barker is committed to supporting the children of our community to thrive by pursuing their strengths, interests and goals and by supporting their families to feel confident, capable and connected. The centre is a 44-place centre in Waterloo, offering early childhood education for children from birth to school age and also offers an Autism Specific program focusing on transition to school.

 

About the role 

Your role will involve collaborating with children about their interests and supporting them by creating a stimulating environment. As well as supporting the physical needs of children, you will assist in the observation and evaluation of the children’s development, creating an environment which ensures trust and security and provides flexible routines and smooth transitions. 

 

You will need   

Experience in a similar role 

A Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care 

Demonstrated understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework 

Demonstrated understanding of the National Quality Standards 

Working with Children Check and current Senior First Aid qualification

Sound understanding of the development of children, their health, hygiene and nutritional needs
