Early Childhood Educator

About the role  

In this full-time permanent position based in our childcare centre onsite at the University of New South Wales, you will be involved in collaborating with children about their interests and supporting them by creating a stimulating environment. As well as supporting the physical needs of children, you will assist in the observation and evaluation of the children’s development, creating an environment which ensures trust and security and provides flexible routines and smooth transitions. 

About you

You will be an experienced qualified educator, with at least 3 years experience combined with a demonstrated understanding of the early years learning framework and the national quality standards relating to child care.  Additionally, you will enjoy working as part of a team with good communication skills.  You currently hold or are able to gain a working with children check.  A current first aid qualification is desirable.

Originally known as the Sydney Day Nursery Association, SDN’s first centre was opened in 1905. The Association was formed by group of women from Sydney’s affluent inner-Suburbs who recognised the dire need among working mothers, who found themselves the sole breadwinners for their family, for safe and reliable child care.  Today we operate over 30 centres across NSW and ACT.

SDN Owl’s House Kingsford is a modern, purpose-built early childhood education care centre just a stone's throw away from the University of New South Wales and the light rail. We cater to children aged 6 weeks to 5 years, providing a nurturing environment that promotes their wellbeing and learning. Our centre offers 48 places and operates from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.
