Who is Nut Producers Australia?
 

Nut Producers Australia (NPA) is an almond and pistachio processing and marketing business with a charter to maximise returns to growers and has an annual turnover more than $100 million. The business is a collective of three companies: NPA, the Marketing and Administration company based in Adelaide, Riverland Almonds in Loxton and Australian Pioneer Pistachio Company, based in Robinvale, Vic. As a separate and complementary channel, NPA also carries on the business of product trading to add to the growth of the business.

APPC is located in Robinvale in the Sunraysia region of Victoria, which are ideally suited for Pistachio growing. We have recently completed the expansion of the hulling and grading plant at Robinvale, Victoria to including a roasting and packing facility.  

 

APPC belong to one of the arms of Nut Producers Australia (NPA) who are an almond and pistachio management, sales, product trading and marketing business. A collective of three companies: NPA - based in Adelaide; Riverland Almonds (RA) - the almond processing company based in Loxton SA with hulling in Lindsay Point Vic; and Australian Pioneer Pistachio Company (APPC) - the pistachio company based in Robinvale, Vic

 

About the role:

The Maintenance Technician responsibility is to manage and implement the service and repair of processing equipment used at APPC, diagnosing operational problems and implementing appropriate solutions in an efficient manner taking into account safety, quality and cost control.

  • Ensure all machinery involved in processing operations is fit for service and able to work with minimal downtime
  • Repair or arrange for the repair of mechanical parts of all machinery in conjunction with the approval of the maintenance manager
  • Identify and advise the Maintenance Manager of any impending problems that could affect efficiency of processing / production.
  • Ensure repairs are completed efficiently and to a high standard
  • Record and report areas of inefficiency, collect and collate data to better understand inefficiencies.
  • Implement maintenance program as set by the Maintenance manager for all machinery used in operations
  • Make sure systems are followed for preventative maintenance.
  • Reports of detailing all work carried out ensuring spare parts and consumables are reported to the Maintenance Manager when used
  • Maintain General workshop storage areas, this includes tool cabinets, hydraulic room, oil storage and waste containers and ensuring this is kept at high standard of cleanliness and organization 
  • Follow monthly work plans and report to Maintenance Managers as to the serviceability of machinery. 
  • Assist in setting work maintenance programs through the year for processing / production equipment for maintenance staff

 About you:

  • Proficient at welding, MIG, TIG, Arc, Oxy
  • Hydraulic knowledge
  • Previous experience in a maintenance or repair industry
  • Mechanical aptitude and hands on capability.
  • Diagnostics Skills
  • Can-do attitude with the ability to work harmoniously within a small team.
