The Opportunity:

City is on the lookout for a driven, visionary and commercially astute General Manager – Strategic Partnerships to spearhead strategic growth initiatives, drive new business development, and cultivate high-impact partnerships that position City as an industry leader in facilities management solutions.

This role is a rare opportunity for a proactive, senior-level business developer who thrives in complex, fast-paced environments and is passionate about building long-term, value-driven client relationships.

New Business Development

  • Designing and executing go-to-market strategies that align with City’s long-term objectives and annual business plans.
  • Actively prospecting and securing new clients through networking, market analysis, cold outreach, and client engagement strategies.
  • Developing tailored proposals and commercial solutions in partnership with operational leaders.
  • Driving revenue growth through a strategic and consultative sales approach.

Client Relationship Management

  • Building and maintaining deep, trusted relationships with senior stakeholders at target client organizations.
  • Presenting and positioning new services and capabilities that enhance client outcomes and broaden engagement.
  • Facilitating client debriefs and ensuring client satisfaction through structured follow-up and relationship management.

Strategic Planning & Market Positioning

  • Evaluating market trends and competitor activity to refine market positioning and identify new growth sectors.
  • Representing City at industry forums, association events, and conferences to enhance visibility and credibility.
  • Collaborating with marketing to shape City’s messaging, brand presence, and digital engagement strategies.

Key Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred but not essential.
  • Experience: 5–8 years in sales, marketing, or strategic partnerships in a B2B environment, ideally within facilities management or related industries.
  • Advanced strategic planning and sales forecasting.
  • Strong understanding of contract structures, pricing models, and commercial negotiations.
  • A proven track record of identifying, closing, and managing large-scale B2B deals.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and public speaking skills.
  • A current driver's licence and willingness to travel interstate and occasionally overseas.
  • Full Australian working rights.
