A rare opportunity has become available for Senior Wellbeing and Leisure Manager to join our Residential Aged Care (RAC) Operations leadership team, reporting directly to Chief Residential Officer. In this key role you will lead a team of 4 direct reports - Regional Leisure & Lifestyle Specialists, who support a large team of Lifestyle Coordinators and Lifestyle Assistants. Your role will be responsible for implementing the Wellbeing Framework and initiatives, embedding, and aligning with Catholic Healthcare’s new Model of Care, CHL Mission Values, and the Aged Care Quality Standards.
As a strategic and hands-on leader, you bring vision and innovation to aged care wellbeing programs. Your leadership ensures that wellbeing and leisure initiatives are compliant, consistent, and impactful. They engage participants and align with person-centred care principles. Your outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities, coupled with your proficiency in collaborating with stakeholders and cross-functional business units, will contribute significantly to your success.
Your days will include;
- Design and development of the Wellbeing Framework and Model of Care (MoC) initiatives
- Operationalising and implementing the Wellbeing Framework aligning with the Aged Care Quality Standards and MoC
- Developing and operationalising innovative Wellbeing and Leisure Programs
- Developing systems, processes and polices to improve the quality and culture of Resident wellbeing
- Undertaking research into new and emerging practices and innovations
- Engaging with Universities and other government bodies to trial and pilot opportunities
- Leading, inspiring and developing the Quality Improvement Specialists and building a responsive proactive team
The ideal candidate will have genuine empathy and interest in working with and supporting older people to have a voice and self-determination over their lives, have a high-level problem-solving and organisational skills in addition to the following;
- Tertiary qualifications from Health and Recreation, Social Work/Allied Health or similar
- Minimum 8 years’ experience as a Multi-site Lifestyle Coordinator or like position
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of Aged Care standards, best practices relevant to Wellbeing and Leisure within aged care
- 5+ years’ experience in Leading and coaching a team to provide quality therapeutic care service offerings
- Contemporary knowledge of reablement, trauma informed care, culturally safe, social isolation dementia care, dementia environments and language, and best practice aged care
- Ability to maintain relationships with multidisciplinary teams, networks within the local community and industry
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to Travel, as requested within NSW and QLD
- Willingness to obtain Police Check
