About the role
We are seeking applications from individuals who may be interested in joining our Board of Directors.
The Board actively promotes our Mission and Values and provides oversight and direction of Catholic Healthcare Limited by:
- Respecting and building on the organisation’s historic foundations and traditions.
- Defining and modelling the desired culture, aligned to our Values.
- Establishing and driving the strategic objectives and ensuring alignment with our Mission and Values
- Providing support to the CEO and Executive, as well as respectfully challenging and holding them to account.
- Facilitating open dialogue, engaging effectively with stakeholders, having a curious mindset and constantly seeking to improve.
- Focusing on the voice of customer and ensuring our clients are at the centre of all decision making.
The role requires attending approximately 8 board meetings (and associated preparation), serving on at least one board committee per year (and associated preparation) and attending site visits (at least one per year). In addition to this, Directors should recognise that their responsibility requires involvement and time commitments in other ways, including Board formation, liaising with management in specific areas, professional development and attendance at various Catholic Healthcare events.
Directors are appointed for a term not exceeding three (3) years and may be re-appointed for a maximum of nine consecutive years. The director role is a remunerated position.
About you
We are seeking an experienced NSW-based Non-Executive Director with an understanding of and commitment to Catholic Healthcare’s Mission and the environment in which it operates, along with experience, qualifications, and specialist knowledge in the areas of finance, risk and compliance. You must have a demonstrated knowledge and familiarity with audit and risk, financial reporting, and compliance obligations in governance. You will likely be a leader in your chosen field, bring sound decision making, have high level communication skills and demonstrate our values of integrity, courage and compassion.
