A fabulous new opportunity is now available for a confident and diligent Communications Specialist to bring your experience and apply your expertise in writing and editing business communications as a key member of our high functioning Communications Team! Reporting directly to the Senior Communications Manager, you will support key stakeholders with the development and delivery of clear, engaging, and purpose-driven Operations and Property focussed communications for internal and external audiences. Additionally, you will take ownership of industry award opportunities and submissions across Catholic Healthcare.  

Your exceptional written and verbal communication skills combined with your ability to learn quickly, interpret business requirements and deliver effective and efficient outcomes will be essential in this role. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate and partner effectively with stakeholders will also contribute significantly to your success. 

Your days will include  

  • Creating, implementing, and overseeing communication plans  
  • Drafting and editing comms, ensuring clarity, tone, and alignment with brand voice 
  • Supporting the development of employee emails, Intranet updates, and messaging 
  • Translation of operational content into accessible, engaging communications 
  • Developing and delivering communications to support new and ongoing property developments 
  • Liaising with internal teams, external consultants, and contractors to ensure messaging is accurate, timely, and aligned with stakeholder expectations 
  • Coordinating and writing award entries that showcase Catholic Healthcare’s excellence and achievements 
  • Working with internal teams to gather information, testimonials and data etc. 
  • Ensuring submissions are compelling, on-brand, and meet entry guidelines and deadlines. 

The ideal candidate will have a curious and solution-focussed mindset, and the ability to adjust to shifting priorities and deadlines within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Additionally, you will have the following;     

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field - desirable 
  • 5 years relevant demonstrated experience, preferably from a not-for-profit organisation 
  • Expertise in writing and editing content heavy business communications - Essential
  • High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills 
  • Experience in using Canva, Sprout Social (or similar) and SharePoint 
  • Demonstrated experience in report writing and award submissions 
  • Proven ability to write for different audiences and adapt tone and messaging accordingly 
  • Willingness to obtain a Police Check.
