LET’S EXPLORE THE ROLE

As part of the Telco Engineering team you will partner with the Telco service delivery and business development teams to achieve sales and revenue targets.

This is a customer-facing role, that is accountable to determine customer requirements of new and existing sales opportunities, then develop technical solutions that meet those customer requirements.

The position will also be expected to generate technical documentation for bids and proposed solutions and provide comparisons between different solutions, equipment, as well as managing effective relationships with technical teams of potential clients and equipment vendors.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements and develop tailored solutions.
  • Provide technical pre-sales support, including leading solution architecture and design, presentations, demonstrations and proposal development for wireless systems with focus on Public Mobile Networks (5G, 4G), Public Safety Networks (P25), 2-way Radio Networks, In Building Coverage (IBC) and small cells .
  • Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine the best solutions for customer needs.
  • Assist in the preparation of RFIs, RFPs, RFQs responses and technical proposals by collaborating with customers and internal teams.
  • Review and provide feedback on proposed RF design documentation including system schematics, RF link budgets, coverage/propagation maps and performance targets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including internal teams, subcontractors and suppliers to produce pricing for proposed solutions.
  • Engage with suppliers to agree on technical requirements and assess the quality of their products.
  • Articulate the technical benefits of a proposed solution vs. competitive offerings.
  • Manage multiple projects and sales initiatives simultaneously from inception to completion.
  • Provide and own clear cost inputs (including rationale) in financial models.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and internal teams.
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies to provide cutting-edge solutions.
  • Provide post-sales support and ensure smooth implementation of solutions.
  • Coach and mentor junior engineers and solution architects.

  • In-building coverage design with tools such as iBwave
  • Outdoor coverage design with tools such as Atoll/Planet
  • Coverage measurement testing with tools such as TEMS, NEMO
  • In building coverage system testing with CW, PIM, RF. Fibre Testing
  • Development of detailed design packs and handover reports
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft applications including Project
  • Good knowledge of Radio Link Budgets
  • Proven track record in working with customers on RFI and RFP response
  • Understanding of structured sales processes and formal RFP processes
  • Understanding of engineering and project management processes, costs and typical pricing models.
  • Understanding of wireless technologies such as 4G LTE, 5G NR
  • Understanding of neutral host model, and experience in multi-band multi-operator technical designs
  • Ability to present to and build relationships with customers.
  • Possess strong commercial & business acumen, with high levels of integrity, professionalism and a commitment to results.
